We Need to TALK and Other Words That Make Men Run for Cover - Chapter Four

HAPPY FRIDAY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I get a witness? My Spring Break begins @ 12pm today. Once I arrive at work, I need to simply enter my grades and call it a DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!

I apologize for failing to post Chapter 4's breakdown yesterday. I am trying to finish organizing things for tomorrow's MOVE! That's right - this is my last DAY/NIGHT at Chez Apartment. PRAISE GOD!!!!! Today, Mr. A. is going to help me set up some wardrobe boxes. The movers packed everything, but my bedroom. I still needed access to things. Therefore, today, the clothes are coming down, and the shoes/500 handbags are being packed. I am still in shock that thisis IT. I've been waiting for this for SO long.

I digress. . . .

Here's the 411 on Chapter Four:

Steve states that menfolk HATE to hear the following phrase uttered from women's lips - We. Need. To. Talk. These 4 words can either mean that men did something wrong or women "literally" want to talk (as if their man was one of their girlfriends). Harvey contends that it is not in men's DNA to sit around sippin' tea while we gossip about what we learned at the hair salon; work, etc. . . . In short, they don't have time for idle chit-chat. Men are not in the "talk-it" bizness; they are in the "fix-it" bizness. Therefore, don't come to them with "mess" unless you want them to "fix" the problem.

Then, Steve brings up an excellent point - if you have a "fixable" problem (i.e. you need $25 until payday, and your man keeps at least $250 in his pocket at ALL times), and he does not attempt to fix it, then he is NOT your man; he is NOT in LOVE with YOU. Once again, He. Is. Not. In. Love. With. You. Let me break it down further for the folks who get picked up each day by the little short bus: Put. The. Cookie. Back. Into. The. Jar.

Got that?

Steve ends the chapter with a suggestion - rather than saying the 4 lil' words that you know will cause your man to wrinkle his forehead, say, "Honey, look, nothing is really wrong - I just really want to tell somebody something."

Dig?
