THE SINGLES MINISTRY

Howdy!

How is your weekend coming along? I just returned from a day filled of activities - - -eyebrow waxing appt; Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and TARJAY. Deliver me from Michaels. I desire to have some flowers made for this tall vase that I have. The woman quoted me $100-$150; that will NOT happen. She showed me the kinds of flowers needed; I will eventually purchase some marbles and make it work in progress.

TOTAL RIPOFF!!!

Target - - - Armstrong floor cleaner (LURVE it); soap to wash my booty; soap to wash my clothes; garbage bags, paper towels, and of course, Valentine's Day shirt. I am such a kid at heart. I have a couple for Valentine's Day, and I already have one for St. Patrick's Day. Ditto for the St. Patty's Day beads and button for my t shirt.

Who do I blame for this? DELORES. Mom ensured that I always had one of those Hallmark lapel pins for EVERY holiday. Damn, I guarantee you that I was the only back kid in America sporting a plaid jumper (uniform) and a Leperchaun pin.

What do y'all think about John Edwards and his sex tape? Was the fool crazy?

Sigh.

The house pretty much clean. I have some laundry to do, but it probably won't get done until Sunday.

Now, speaking of Sunday, let me bring up the subject line - - - I will be helping a church start their Singles Ministry. Once again, I blame DELORES for this. She told me to find a church that has one; hello, I live in an area where everyone is MARRIED with babies. I went to an informational meeting, stated my interes in joining a singles ministry, and voila, they probably saw the letters Ph.D. after my last name, and said, "If the woman has a doctorate, then she can probably organize and lead this event."

Sigh.

Sit back, because y'all KNOW that I am going to have you ROLLIN'.

The following pics were taken last Monday. I had an interview; I seriously doubt that I got the position; however, I am thankful to God for allowing me to be 1 of 5 candidates and helping me answer those questions so that I can be moreso prepared when the next opening comes alone.

CORRECTION - PLaEASE READ

Good afternoon.

It has been brought to my attention that I may have offended some with my last post. I was at church when I received an email, and it really bothered me to the point that prior to going to lunch, I came home in order to correct my error.

First, I do not have any issues with anyone wearing a crucifix; I wear one, and considering that my father is a jeweler in a religious area, he has sold his share. The ONLY issue that I have is when people wear crucifixes YET forget what they truly symbolize - the love that Christ had for each of us. I have been going through some issues with someone who wears a cross; however, she attempts to make individuals' lives a living hell. In sum, her cross is a mere fashion accessory rather than a representation of her faith. This is what I failed to include in my message.

I apologize if I offended anyone with my message.

WHEW!

Good morning!

Give God some PRAISE today!!! Although I am sick, I am going to church today. I want to attend an informational meeting for potential members this afternoon. Otherwise, I would stay home.

Ear infections are no JOKE. I feel so groggy. I had to take a Vicodin this morning to ease my migraine headache. Good Lord.

So much has been going on. The highlight of my week occurred on Friday. With God's grace, one episode of a huge nightmare has ended. Satan attempted to have me bound, but indeed, Jesus freed me. There are some evil people in the world, and the main ones are those who walk around sporting a crucifix necklace.

My personal life - - - my students are on my case about it; they contend that I need to get serious about settling down. Indeed, the truth was coming out of the little babes' mouths. It's just so hard to find QUALITY, and I refuse to settle.

Whew! I do know that I am done trying to fix Humpty Dumpty men.I cannot continue to "put them back together again."

Whew!

I've been reading galore. Yesterday, while at Urgent Care, the physician spent the first 10-15 minutes talking to me about my Kindle. LOL. I LURVE that machine.

Continue to pray for our Haitian brothers and sisters. Sweet Lord, J. Hudson can siiiiing!!!

She's Got THE Look!

This is SUCH a gag gift that Charles got for me today from Marshalls. I've given him hell over purchasing the Snuggie for folks.

The pic could have been better, but my bud had the shakes (even with image stabilization in the point and shoot). Drat!

R U KIND?

Howdy!

Two weeks ago, I saw a personalized plate that read, "R U Kind?" Of course, that's the one day that I didn't at least have my point and shoot in my purse.

How many of you could truly have this phrase as your license plate?

Word.

Psalm 91/Monday Musings

Readers: Good morning! Thank you for the kind posts RE: my new header. I am kinda diggin' it myself. ;)

This passage is wearing heavy on my heart. My aunt encouraged me to read it:

Psalm 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

Did y'all make time for the Lord yesterday?

Here are my Monday Musings (it's been awhile):

I am been a reading fool:

1.) I am almost done reading Teach Me. I enjoyed the novel; however, it was too close to home. There are just TOO many teachers (men and women) who sexually take advantage of high school students.
2.) I will start reading Wench today. Mom, the book is now available.
3.) Last night's episode of "Big Love" was CRAZY!
4.) I am addicted to watching "Hoarders" and "Lockup"; both are so sad.

Happy Monday!

NEW HEADER

Greetings!

Are you being steadfast in your desire to keep your 2010 resolutions?
It was time to change my header. I absolutely LOVE it. My friend did an excellent job on it.

I am back to work. Yesterday's sermon dealt with the book of Job; indeed, I can relate to him.

My mother reminded me that I need to finish my discussion of Steve's book. Trust me, I will jump on that tomorrow.

Happy Monday.

Resolutions - -- A NEW DECADE

Dear Readers:

Happy 2010! How was your New Year's Eve? New Year's Day? Did you eat your fair share of black eyed peas, collard greens, etc. . . ? The above is a picture of me from NYE. Needless to say, the lampshade made me the "belle" of the New Year's festivities. I had a blast.

Resolutions. Aside from continuing in my walk with Christ, I am resolved to:

* Write in a journal each day this year. I already have one entry; I am keeping the journal on my nightstand. Therefore, I won't have any excuse.
* Calm down and have more time to talk with the Lord. I stay on the GO too much!!
* Staying home at leaset one day on the weekends in order to unwind
* Scrapbook/take more photos
* Attempt to read 1 novel ever 7-10 days. With the Kindle, I hope to be able to do this at a faster rate. I LOVE that machine.
* Be patient

Let's see where I am this time next year! ;)
