GOD IS LOVE!!!

Folks:

God is LOVE. Let me continue to tell you about his GOODNESS. My schedule has been modified; I am teaching 3 section of Freshmen English and TWO sections of Senior Honors.

So much is going on. Y'all pray for me. I won't go into specifics, but the Devil is BUSY. Folks need to realize that the worst thing that you can do is mess with God's children.

I had SUCH a wonderful time with my friend, Michael. He's the man that I met 12 years ago while working on my Master's. I haven't seen him in 10 years. I will share a picture tomorrow.

Seriously, keep me in your prayers.

Sunday Singin' Sensation #8 (A DAY late) ! - PRINCE

FOLKS:

I am tired. I apologize for not posting SSS yesterday. Did y'all give GOD some PRAISE??? ;)

You already know about the leaf.

This week's SSS is none other than that "sexy MF" (from his hit, "YOU SEXY MF") - PRINCE. And, yes, he is FUNKY. I have been in LUV with this man for over 25 years. There is no one as artistic as Prince. If you don't know who Prince is, you need an intervention. Who can forget the first time that they saw "Purple Rain"? D-to-the-I-to-the-A-to-the-M. . . O-to-the-N-to -the-D-to the PEARLS of LOVE.

I thank Prince for awesome music. And, I thank GOD for creating such a SEXY MAN (even tho' he's 2 snaps tall).

Today, I went to the State Dept. of Education to file my Intern Certificate renewal. On the way there, I saw folks in DOC orange jump suits. They were females sweeping up trash. I couldn't help but wonder how their lives got on the wrong path. I lifted them up in prayer.

I waited 45 minutes at the DOE for a FIVE minute consultation. JJJJJESUS.

While downtown, I decided to take some pics. Here's one that spoke volumes:
Gotta thank BUSH for this mess.

Tonight, my BFF Michael arrives from the Middle East. I get to see him tomorrow evening. It's been TEN years. I cannot wait!!!

Folks, I return to the g-i-g tomorrow for the 2008-2009 academic year. Lift me up in PRAYER. I will need it.

I IS ALIVE!

Folks:

I IS ALIVE - barely! As many of you know, I spent the ENTIRE freaking summer working on my teacher certification. GOOD GAWD, I nearly lost my MIND. I took four online courses within the past six weeks. If Jesus and Frank hadn't been by my side, I would not have survived. I would be jobless. I had to complete 50% of my program by July 25th in order to retain my teaching position.

I DID IT. On Monday, I renew my certificate with the State Department of Education. Although I returned to work last week for a special program, my first official contract day is Tuesday.

JESUS IS LOVE.

Let me tell y'all about the wonderful man in this photo. On Memorial Day, a representative from the community college called and informed me that I needed to take FOUR classes in order to complete the first year of the program. I nearly had a heart attack. In late June, another rep. emailed all the first yr. students informing them of the deadline. That's when I said, "Cee, you ain't the only student who is climbing the walls. Respond to this email and see if anyone would like to study with you."

That's how I met Frank. He immediately responded. Frank didn't know me from Eve, but he knew that he needed to get through this program, and if others were willing to help each other, he wanted to join "the club." I have spent the bulk of my weekends/evenings with Mr. E. Thank the Lord that I have unlimited minutes. We literally would spend 2 plus hours on the phone at a time. MIND YOU, that was one phone call of many in ONE day. 4th of July - - - I spent it with Frank via the phone. We had to get through our Educational Psych midterm. We took the exam on a Tuesday, and finally met face to face on the next day. The next battle was the final exam. We took it on Wednesday, and my summer of hell came to an END. Frank and I ended up celebrating over margarita and food @ Oreganos.

Frank is HILARIOUS! Y'all say that I am funny - - - meet Frank. I will never think of pork and beans in the same way. Tater tots - - - Jesus is gonna get us.

Whew! Mr. E., you are so loved. You are such a gentle soul. It's rare that one finds someone like you, especially in the STATE OF ARIZONA. You've got one more exam, and you are ARE going to get through it. We are going to PARTAY this week.

After we ate, we ended up at Chandler Fashion. Y'all like these FOUR HUNDRED DOLLAR CHANEL SUNGLASSES on my face?!?!? Y'all KNOW where the shades are - - - @ the STORE. I ain't CRAZY.

Today, I saw "Mamma Mia!" May I get a REFUND?!?!?

What's going on with y'all? DO TELL!

Sunday Singin' Sensation #7: STEVELAND MORRIS B.K.A. STEVIE WONDER!!!!!

GOOD EVENING!!!

Did y'all actually think that I was gonna leave you HANGIN' on a Sunday? ;)

Did y'all remember to give GOD and not the freakin' leaf some PRRAIIIISE today?

He is good ALL THE TIME.

Now, speaking of how good He is, let's discuss this week's Sunday Singin' Sensation - - - it's no other than my distant cousin (that's right, and I ain't talkin' about that "play cuz" mess either) - Steveland Morris. See, my paternal grandmother was a Hardaway; Stevie's mother was a Hardaway. Y'all following along?

No, I've never met him, but my mom went to high school with his brother.

Before there were Alicia Keyes and John Legend, there was THE legend - Stevie Wonder. Can we remember Thelma marrying Keith ("Good Times") to "You and I"? Stevie introduced me to superstitious ways. Jodeci was CLOSE to duplicating the greatness of Stevie with their version of "Lately, " but they still didn't nail it all the way. "A Ribbon in the Sky" - - - how many bridesmaids in the 1980s came down the aisle on this song? "Happy Birthday To You" - - - Stevie did the justice to this song like Marvin Gaye did justice to "The National Anthem."

LAWD. "We Are the World," "That's What Friends Are For," and the anthology goes on and on.

Stevie, you have truly embraced God's anointing. A freakin' leaf didn't make Stevie. God blessed Him with that talent.

Whew! It's been awhile since I've done a WTFism. Here's one for you:

* While at Wally World today, I stopped by Subway to get something to drink. While there, a bruh and his girlfriend roll through to get a sammich. Their baby was absolutely beautiful. I start talking to the young woman, when her man said, "X, come on and let's go. That dude is retarded. F*CK you." The girlfriend gave me one of those, "I am so sorry that my man is ghetto, but I must go."

I went and got some popcorn at the counter. I asked the man why Bruh Man tripped. He said, "Miss, the man tripped because he wanted me to give him some pickles from the BOTTOM of the pickles condiment container. I couldn't do that. The ones on top were already fresh."

I was in HYSTERICS. How in the hell do I manage to GRAVITATE to this madness?!?!?!

Love y'all!

The weekend is HERE

for y'all at least. I am a still studyin'. . . .

Check this out - - - two nights ago, I dreamed that I delivered 8lb twins (EACH) - a little boy and girl. The baby boy was given my mother's maiden name. My baby girl - still couldn't decide on her name.

What does my husband look like? The hell if I know. I just know that he must be white or Hispanic because my babies were biracial. I knew that the babies weren't of Asian or Indian heritage, because I did get to peep them out. They had a head full of dark, black hair and really full cheeks. That's all that I could make out.

My daddy kept sayin', "Damn, your ass was HUGE." Mom and Grandma Mel repeatedly said that my babies were beautiful (and, if you knew my grandmother you would KNOW that she doesn't go ga-ga over babies. In fact, she told her own sister that her (her sister's) grandson was UGLY. An Asian co-worker said (WHY was she in my dream - - - let me guess - I was preparing for my ELL exam and was considering all ELL learners), "Ooh, your babies are so pretty, but so BIG. You were so BIG."

LAWD.

This weekend, I leave you with this:

Gotta luv the U.S.'s right to nearly do ANYTHANG.

Happy Friday. Now y'all go and get yourself a WAFFLE, okay?

AMERICA DON' LOST DEY MIND!!!

Folks:

Due to exams, I've been incognito. I have ONE more left to complete this summer. My head feels as if it is going to freakin' EXPLODE. Vicodin wouldn't even help my head.

After I finished my exam, I headed straight to Oreganos for a margarita on the rocks, no salt.

Indeed, I DESERVED it. Hell, I deserved a pitcher of them.

I is TI'ED.

It is so hot here when I took my bra off the other day , it made a suction sound. I sat down and roared. That bra said, "Heffa, I've been waiting ALL day long for you to do that. This ain't no 18 hour bra. You must have me confused with Playtex. You betta recognize the label sewn on this bra."
As my friend's almost 3 year old would say, JESUS!!!

Y'all know that if I wasn't so busy studying, I would have been all over The New Yorker when I first saw this. What is wrong with our country? This is RIDICULOUS. The sad thing is that America isn't even trying to boycott this mess. What's wrong with THAT?!?!?!?

And, do we really think that this will improve once Obama is elected?

Anyone want to get on the Marcus Garvey boat?

WORD.

Here's my latest bus story. Now, y'all know that I have a special place in my heart for crazy folks. Heck, I've got crazy relatives. I'm crazy. I am waiting for the bus last week (what else is new). It was a United Colors of Beneiton (sp?) ad - a Haitian, an Ethiopian kid (about early 20s) who has lost both of his legs, a Hispanic woman (pregnant), a white male, and a brotha who was "touched." I'm sitting there trying to review my notes when the brotha stand up and starts doing this dance. The Ethiopian child, who is playing African music, has this "Huh, what is THAT?" look on his face. The Hispanic woman looks @ me and shakes her head. The Haitian said, "Is that the old school cha-cha?" We thought that the man was happy to see his bus. Y'all, he didn't even get on the BUS. Then, he proceed to sit down across from me. Bruh Man starts playing with a freakin' lighter. I jumped up. My ass wasn't about to become Richard Pryor, Jr. running down a busy street on fire.

HELL TO THE NAW, BOBBY!!!

Adrienne, get up off the FLO'.

Nite!

Sunday Singin' Sensation #6: ROBERTA FLACK!!!

Greetings, good PEOPLES!!!

I hope that you have enjoyed your weekend! Did y'all remember to give God/the leaf (and you know how feel about THAT) some P-R-A-I-S-E today? Folks, it's time to get right with God. That's all I have to say.

Today's Singin' Sensation tribute goes to my girl, ROBERTA FLACK. Talk about a blast from the freakin' PAST!!! Everyone wants to keep going on and on about Alicia "High Yella" Keyes. Let's give some PROPS to original female pianist - - - ROBERTA FLACK If you don't know who she is, SHET UP!!! Who doesn't know "Killing Me Softly" and "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love for You" (a duet with Peabo "FOREHEAD" Bryson)? If it wasn't for Ms. Flack, would we have THE FUGEES? Would we have LAURYN HILL (Help that damn child, please! She's a PRIME example of how talent can get wasted over a MAN!)?!! Deet Da Deet, DAMN, Lauryn. Get it TOGETHER!!! Go to the Juke Joint and listen to Roberta. Allow yourself to fall under her spell.

This weekend, I do what I do best - study. I did manage to get out and spend some time with my girl, Shelly, and her little girl. Here's one of the photos from our time @ the Phoenix Zoo.

Shelly's little girl has got the "Booty Shot" pose down pat. She can give my students some pointers on how to strike a pose with one hand on your hip, one side of your hip pokin' out and the booty turned just right. LOL.

Phoenix got some RAIN today. Can you believe it?!?!?

4 REALS.

Now that Angelina Jolie has given birth, can we now move along to other thangs going on in the world??? For instance, can we now focus on NKOTB (New Kids on the Block) are scheduled to tour with MICHAEL JACKSON. I guess that they think that Mike has the "right stuff."

4 REALS.

WTF?! Dang, it's a Sunday, but I had to cuss about that.

Keep my bro. in your prayers. Today, he left his home of 9 years, Bloomington, IN, to move to Tallahassee, FL to start his doctoral program @ FL State.

It's amazing what God can do with a C/D high school student.

Peace.

Do I want to ROCK with THIS?!?!

What has happened to our fallen IDOL?!?!?! I so vividly recall watching Michael Jackson doing the moonwalk for the FIRST time during the Motown Anniversary Special. I went on to having Michael Jackson purses, buttons, the poster of him wearing the yellow cardigan, yellow bowtie, and white slacks/shirts. Now, I am left wit this shell of a man.

Mike, take your ASS back to CHURCH. Is this the man that belted out "Rock With You"; "PYT"; "Thriller"?!?!?!?

WTF?!??! Y'all lift him up in prayer this AM.

I am still studying away, but I am trying to get some rest. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Have you ever dated someone, thought that the person was "the one", broke up years ago, manage to locate the person's info. online, and find out that the person is married and has a child? That happened to me. I knew that he was married, and I sensed that he had a child, but it was like WOW when I saw it in color. Indeed, I have no regrets about not remaining w/him. It was a different time/place in my life. I do not think that I would be Dr. C. if I were to have remained with him. Instead, I would be a missus with a Master's degree, a child, and daily seeing my dream of a Ph.D. deferred. Y'all know that I took too many women's studies classes to allow that to happen. ;)

I called my grandmother, who is more sympathetic about those things. I said, "Grandma, I know that my husband is coming." She said, "He is."

Sigh.

Alright, I haven't been on a roll lately because I've had TOO much stuff going on to truly allow myself to witness people at their craziest. Yesterday, I was talking to my mom on my cell phone. I was waiting for the BUS to take me home. I was fulfilling every stereotype with black people and watermelon. I stopped solely at the store to get some watermelon, because I was craving it. Back to waiting for the bus. . . Mom needed someone to talk to, and I am listing. A bruh starts walking down the street (nice looking) and he stops and sits at the bus shelter and waits until I get off the phone. I said hello and said, "Family" and shook my head. We talked until the bus turned the corner. I am thinking that he is getting ON the bus with me. THIS FOOL HAS A CAR. HE STOPPED TO MAC WITH ME AT THE BUS STOP AND DID NOT EVEN ASK FOR MY DIGITS. HE JUST STARED AND SMILED!!!

WTF?!?!?!? Now, I've seen it all. As my grandmother once said, "Girl, you know and meet some f*cking f*cked-up folks." I told her, "GREAT usage of alliteration, Grandma!" She said, "Huh?" Indeed, she is correct!

WORD, PEOPLE!!!

THE REVEREND

Folks, I is TIRED. I have been studying nonstop. Thank the LAWD, that my hard work is paying off. The exams are coming along; however, they seem to be never-ending. I ret to travel "over the rainbow" already.

Today, I had the pleasure of having dinner with a colleague. We're in the same program. We haven't met prior to this evening; however, we've been on the phone nonstop studying. I am SO thankful for FE's assistance. He has been an angel. Indeed, his parents truly raised him right - NICE MAN.

I'm too tired to really go into a long spiel RE: THE REVEREND JESSE, but I will say this - - why doesn't someone tell him to go ahead and SET his behind DOWN already?!??!?!?!!? Jesse, as Envogue used to say, "Give it Up, Turn it LOOSE." Keep hope alive by setting your BEHIND DOWN.

Sunday Singin' Sensation #5!: Earth, Wind, and FIIIIIIRE

Happy Sunday good PEEPS!

Did y'all give God/the leaf (you already know my philosophy RE: the dang leaf) some praise today? Check out Cece Winans over @ the Juke Joint. As always, God is LOVE. He's good ALL THE TIME. If you are going through some mess, ask Him to get you back on the correct path.

It's SSS! Today's featured artist - - - EARTH, WIND, AND FIIIIIIIIRE!!!! Folks, I have loved these men from WAY BACK. I hate that Maurice retired. I didn't know that Maurice and Verdine (aka Diana Ross, #3 (after Michael Jackson, of course) were brothers. If you don't know who Earth, Wind, and Fire, are, you need some serious psychological assistance. Folks, "Let's Groove Tonight" in order to get Monday off to a good start! Two summers ago, I saw them in concert. I about lost my MIND. They still have it. My ultimate Earth, Wind, and Fire favorite, "After the Love is Gone." Hell, I have sung this song on SO many occasions.

Moving right along. . . I have been studying away. I would have liked to have taken some pictures this weekend; however, when you barely leave home, you can't take a lot of photos. I had a two hour study session via the phone this afternoon. I had to pop an Excedrin after hour one. It's just information OVERLOAD. After studying all of this educational psychology, I NEED a psychologist!

Folks, I leave you with the following. I do not mean to always bring up race; however, it is such a reality, especially as we may elect the first African American President in four short months. I would like to read your feedback on the following:

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!

Happy Independence Day, FOLKS!! I hope that you have enjoyed this holiday. It's hot as HELL in Phoenix, AZ. Sweet LAWD, we need some RELIEF!!!!! My holiday has been a rather quiet one. I've been studying away. I did go across the street and have a Cosmopolitan to soothe my rattled-ass NERVE. The bartender must have felt my stress, because my drink was extra STIFF. I had one of the hostesses take this pic of me lookin' patriotic.

I'm interested in hearing your sentiments RE: what it means to be FREE. Although, my race considers Juneteenth as our "Independence Day," I did spend a few moments reflecting on FREEDOM:

* I have the right to cuss someone out (Freedom of Speech).
* I have the right to worship my Lord and Savior without persecution.
* I have the right to VOTE.
* I am able to WORK.
* I am able to own PROPERTY.
* I am able to be ME.

On to current events, Jesse Helms is DEAD. The State of North Carolina can now let out a sigh of relief (I used to live in N.C.). Isn't it ironic that he died on Independence Day? God has his hands in EVERYTHANG.

WORD.

THANK YOU and other THANGS. . .

HOWDY, Y'ALL!!!

Did you miss ME?! LOL. I've been so busy preparing for exams that I haven't had time to devote to posting. On a serious note, I would like to thank you for your comments via blogger and email RE: Monday's post. The usage of racial slurs must cease.

Here' s a photo of me next to the HSM sign. I heard those things cost TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS, FOLKS!!!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!? I tried doing one of those "shots" that my high schoolers give when they are posing for photos. I'll never forget the morning when one student said, "I'm ready for my photo to be taken" and struck a POSE. GOOD LAWD. Oh, how I needed that laugh. Booty shorts will folks some high esteem. FORGET esteem workshops.

Now, the musical . . . considering that my tickets were free, it was GRRRRRRRRRRREAT. Would I have paid that kind of $$$ to take my daughter to see "HSM" - that production - - - NOT. For a Broadway musical, it should have been better. I am all about exposing children to the arts, but I would have saved my $$$ to take my child to see "The Lion King." The highlight of the play was when a little girl behind me said, "Mommy, I need to go potty." I didn't make it any better; I turned around and said, "Do you have to go tinkle?" She bobbed her head. I could go on and on about the play, but I sense that the last thing that you want to hear about is some teeny-booper play.

Alright, it's time to talk about current EVENTS happening in our BELOVED country:

1.) Bush decides to lift the terrorist threat warning on Mandela. Wasn't that just NICE of YOUR Pres.?! WTF?!?! The man is 90 years old; he's been out of prison for over 15 plus years, and you just decided to do this?!??! Did Condie have to coax him?

DELIVER ME.

2.) The VT girl whose UNCLE, a convicted SEX OFFENDER, has killed her. WTF?!?! If I knew that my brother was a sex offender, there is no way in the H -E -DOUBLE L would he be anywhere near my child.

What are your sentiments about this MESS?!

On to a lighter note, I had the PLEASURE of speaking with my girl, CHRISTINA, this AM. I feel as if I have known her for years. Damn, I hate that she lives in the Midwest. Christina is REAL, and for those living in Phoenix, y'all KNOW that you can count the # of real folks on one hand and STILL have some fingers left over. Check her blog out (go to these are a few of my favorite PEEPS).

Off to enjoy my STORIES. I've been without cable service since Monday. And yes, I pay my bill. The complex switched cable providers. The servicemen just left.

As Adrienne would say, TOODLES! ;)
