Happy Independence Day, FOLKS!! I hope that you have enjoyed this holiday. It's hot as HELL in Phoenix, AZ. Sweet LAWD, we need some RELIEF!!!!! My holiday has been a rather quiet one. I've been studying away. I did go across the street and have a Cosmopolitan to soothe my rattled-ass NERVE. The bartender must have felt my stress, because my drink was extra STIFF. I had one of the hostesses take this pic of me lookin' patriotic.I'm interested in hearing your sentiments RE: what it means to be FREE. Although, my race considers Juneteenth as our "Independence Day," I did spend a few moments reflecting on FREEDOM:
* I have the right to cuss someone out (Freedom of Speech).
* I have the right to worship my Lord and Savior without persecution.
* I have the right to VOTE.
* I am able to WORK.
* I am able to own PROPERTY.
* I am able to be ME.
On to current events, Jesse Helms is DEAD. The State of North Carolina can now let out a sigh of relief (I used to live in N.C.). Isn't it ironic that he died on Independence Day? God has his hands in EVERYTHANG.
