LOVING ME

Daily, I am reminding myself to LOVE ME. I thought that this was a perfect tee to serve as a reminder:

Good evening.

How is your weekend coming along?

Today, I went to the LSS. I was having a great time working on scrapbook layouts until the sweet team teachers put out the cupcakes. Folks, there is one woman that I truly can't stand. It's so bad that I look for her car each time that I visit a local scrapbook store; ditto for my friend. She's got some serious issues. Case in point - -- my friend went to her house almost four years ago. When she proceeded to take off her shoes, she was informed (by heffa) to keep them on because her dead skin cells are what dirties her carpet, NOT my friend's shoes. Today, her craziness struck YET again. The instructors made these cute plate stands from Goodwill supplies. I took a pic of the display, and before I could reach and take a plate, the customer who thinks that she is ALL of THAT lunges for the plate and informs me, "I want that plate. I was up here first."

WTH? Are you kidding me? How old are you?

My response OUT LOUD (and, I do watch myself at this LSS) was : "DAMN." She said, "Oh, I was going to let you take your picture first (as if she was doing me a favor), and then I was going to get my plate.

My inward response, "Crazy bitch."

What's the problem with this situation - - -the woman is at least FORTY-FIVE YEARS OLD MAKING A LUNGE FOR A FREAKIN' CUPCAKE THAT IS ON A GOODWILL PLATE. I don't knock Goodwill whatsoever, but COME ON, the china wasn't LENOX!!! Hell, she gave Gerald Bettis a run for his money.

The woman has some ISSUES. I HATE seeing her at the store. In fact, my girl and I go to other stores PRAYING that we don't see her car in the lot. When we see her car @ the LSS, we both let out a big, "DAMN" in the car and say, "I guess we've got to deal with HER today." We don't know how she has any friends, because we have seen her dog out her BFFs behind their back. She's got one friend that follows her around like a lost, puppy dog.

While at these stores, she takes over and acts as if everyone should wait on her/stop what they are doing. I've met women at other LSS, and they have said, "I can't stand her. She will sign up for classes and have to leave early, and she wants to rush the teacher to finish the directions in order to accomodate her schedule."

She is extremely uncouth when it comes to bragging about all the material goods that she has. I want to scream, "Don't you have any shame? Don't you realize that people in this classroom are rolling their eyes at you? Do you honestly think that these employees really want to wait on you? They are sweet women; however, THEY should have a boiling point, and if you weren't spending so much $$$ there, they would blow you off like the rest of us do. Do you think that they are laughing at your jokes or really care about you reminding them of how much $$$ that you have? Shut UP already. SET down.

This is a woman who would laugh @ me taking the bus over to Mesa (y'all know that I am blind and don't drive); however, when she needed something, and she knew that I was there, she sure would ask for me to look and see what was new at the store. This is a person who would call and invite me to her home for parties only to act as if they parties didn't exist so that she didn't have to pick me up - - - as if I was a burden.

Scrapbooking attracts some CRAZY folks. That's the TRUTH.

THE WOMAN IN THE MIRROR

Today, I am not happy by what I see. Yesterday, I had to cuss a man out, after I promised my dad that I wouldn't do that again. It was needed, and Dad would have said that it was justified. I cannot continue to allow myself to succumb to the Christian need to help others, especially when these individuals lack the self-love/motivation to overcome their hardships.

Yesterday, someone attempted to "play" me, and he got played. I am not an animal lover; I didn't grow up in a household filled with pets. Mom changed baby diapers, and that's it; that's all that I will ever see myself changing. Me with a pooper-scooper, not in this lifetime nor the next.

A man informed me that he needed a balance in his life, and he felt that with me fearing his dogs, I was a hindrance. I broke it down to him so severely that my grandmother got choked up and started laughing. She even said that I was by far more brutal than she has ever been. I guess that she has forgotten about cussing her ex husband out. I don't like talking about the dead, but trust ME, he deserved every word that she threw at him. She's better than me, because I would have physically assaulted him.

As Delores always says, don't EVER let a man feel as if he's going out of his way to do ANYTHING for you. The only men that should do things for you are your father and your husband, and with the latter, if he doesn't want to do it, then do it on your own or DUMP his ass.

Point taken.

I was so low that as I calmed down, I thought of the lyrics of the late Mike's hit, "Man in the Mirror."

Today, I had to attend a meeting with one of the church's ministers RE: the singles ministry. As he made me discuss my own Christian journey/desire for a single's ministry, I got choked up. I told him that it's really hard for men and women like myself who want a Christian man/woman to attend a church filled with couples and babies beyond capacity. Churches have forgotten about us, our feelings, etc.. . , and it's heartwrenching.

Sigh.

Delores asked me to do this, and she's right - - - maybe God is trying to speak with me via organizing this group.

It's hard. I need to make some changes in my life.

THE SINGLES MINISTRY

Howdy!

How is your weekend coming along? I just returned from a day filled of activities - - -eyebrow waxing appt; Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and TARJAY. Deliver me from Michaels. I desire to have some flowers made for this tall vase that I have. The woman quoted me $100-$150; that will NOT happen. She showed me the kinds of flowers needed; I will eventually purchase some marbles and make it work in progress.

TOTAL RIPOFF!!!

Target - - - Armstrong floor cleaner (LURVE it); soap to wash my booty; soap to wash my clothes; garbage bags, paper towels, and of course, Valentine's Day shirt. I am such a kid at heart. I have a couple for Valentine's Day, and I already have one for St. Patrick's Day. Ditto for the St. Patty's Day beads and button for my t shirt.

Who do I blame for this? DELORES. Mom ensured that I always had one of those Hallmark lapel pins for EVERY holiday. Damn, I guarantee you that I was the only back kid in America sporting a plaid jumper (uniform) and a Leperchaun pin.

What do y'all think about John Edwards and his sex tape? Was the fool crazy?

Sigh.

The house pretty much clean. I have some laundry to do, but it probably won't get done until Sunday.

Now, speaking of Sunday, let me bring up the subject line - - - I will be helping a church start their Singles Ministry. Once again, I blame DELORES for this. She told me to find a church that has one; hello, I live in an area where everyone is MARRIED with babies. I went to an informational meeting, stated my interes in joining a singles ministry, and voila, they probably saw the letters Ph.D. after my last name, and said, "If the woman has a doctorate, then she can probably organize and lead this event."

Sigh.

Sit back, because y'all KNOW that I am going to have you ROLLIN'.

The following pics were taken last Monday. I had an interview; I seriously doubt that I got the position; however, I am thankful to God for allowing me to be 1 of 5 candidates and helping me answer those questions so that I can be moreso prepared when the next opening comes alone.
