Dear Mom:

I know that you are going to kill me.
I am bracing myself for the phone call where you say: "What in the F. have you done. fool?!?! You have no hair, and it's too light. Do you hear me? Too light and too short!!!!!"

My response, "I LURVE this hair cut. I LURVE this color. And you're right - - - it takes someone with some high self esteem to do some *hit like this (your words, not mine)."

You've Come a LONG way baby!!!

TGIF!!!

What's going on?

Since I missed Monday, here are my musings for this week:

* RE: Chelsea Clinton, see subject line. That is the GOSPEL. She looked simply beautiful. I loved Hillary's dress, but I cannot imagine a 60 year old woman wearing something like that. It was pretty, a smidgen too much. Those are just my two cents. I can relate to Chelsea; people dogged me out during my awkward teen years. Now, they are the people looking b-a-d. I have one word that best summarizes this: KARMA
* Montana Fishburne - you ain't KIM KARDASHIAN. Go sit down and put some CLOTHES on.
* Michelle Obama - people are HATERS. Enjoy a great time in Spain!
* 32 Candles - go. get. this. book. period.
* Work has me exhausted; however, I am thankful for employment
* Today - my repairs to the house will be completed. HOORAY
* My students *thus* far appear to be decent.
* I looked great on the first day of school if I do say so myself
* My hair style now resembles Amber Rose's - color and all (will post pic this weekend).

Toodles! ;)

PSALM 41:14

HELLO!

How is your weekend thus far? Last night, The Man and I went to Durant's a wonderful steakhouse, and to Char's. For my Phoenix readers, if you haven't been to Char's for awesome "back in the day" live music, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. WE had a BLAST.

So much has been going on in my life. While reading the latest issue of Essence magazine, I came across T.D. Jakes' article. He discussed the importance of Psalm 44:14. I would like to share it with you:

I know that thou favorest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

It's been awhile since I've provided a social commentary regarding things in our SOCIETY. Here's ar undown:

* it's a damn shame when broke cities will designate 2.5 million dollars per school to repair their athletic fields, BUT there are not enough textbooks in the classroom per student.
* Lindsay Lohan, seek the Lord
* The sista' who worked in Agriculture. What can I say? What can I SAY? I want to tell that blogger to set. himself. DOWN. I'm not too overly happy with the NAACP either. Can folks spell LAWSUIT? Our country is so bandwagon happy without fully getting their facts together.
* Obama, I love ya, but "Moses," it's time to part the waters already.

The collage of my friend, Michael, - - - pictures from Hanoi, Vietnam. GORGEOUS! Vietnam looks nothing like I expected it to.

Word.

Monday's Musings

And, a HAPPY MONDAY to YOU!!!

How was your weekend?

This is my last week off prior to returning to the g-i-g. Overall, I had a FANTASTIC summer. It hasn't been this laidback since 2007. For the last two summers, I spent working on my certification. It's nice to lay back, play Suzie Cut and Paste (as The Man) calls it and chill. my. nerves.

Here are some things on my mind:

* Another reason as to why I will not seek an administrator's certificate: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/19/education/19winerip.html?_r=1

* So many celebrities are getting married. How many of these unions are God-centered?

* Someone needs to sprinkle Lindsay Lohan with some holy oil. The girl needs prayer.

* There haven't been ANY good movies this summer, or any song that is staying in.my.head.nonstop. I find myself spending more time listening to 90s jams than current joints.

* Are you allowing Jesus to take the wheel in your life? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lydBPm2KRaU This song has truly been on my heart for weeks.

* I love Picasa.

* Mr. A. is envious of The Man. Did I tell y'all how he hid from us a couple of months ago @ Costco's?

Quit laughing!!!

The photo collage are pictures from my single's group's outing two months ago. We saw a comedy show that had zero usage of profanity.

What's on your mind today?

MIKE EPPS AND OTHER THINGS

Good afternoon!

It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a week since my last post; I've been busy, busy, busy. Folks, if Mike Epps comes to your city, GO, GO, GO!!!! That man is SIK. "The Man" and I went to see him @ the Improv on Friday evening; we had a blast. In fact, TM had tears streaming down his face. I've included some photos. Of course, I ran into some peeps that I knew.

On Saturday, my singles group volunteered @ a local mission. God is so good. I am so blessed. Anytime that you are packing sanitary napkins for a homeless woman, you know that the Lord has INDEED been GOOD. TO. YOU. I got choked up with each bag of products that I created for those in local shelters.

Here are some things on my MIND:

* Christina Milan, I could have TOLD you that the Dream was simply that - a DREAM.
* Read Jennifer Weiner's latest novel; I am hooked. Mom, go get it. It's your type of read.
* Lala and Carmelo, y'all spent some MONEY on that wedding; I do hope that it lasts.
* It's too hot in AZ; I should have stock in pantiliners.
* It was nice to have a homecooked meal on Sunday (meatloaf, mashed potatoes, veggies, crescent rolls,, and sweet potato pie!)
* I need a maid to do my laundry
* Folks need to QUIT underestimating the power of God; I am a living witness!

Love ya!

DALLAS and NEW MEXICO

GREETINGS!

This lil' cowgirl has been on the g-o. Last Friday, I returned from 5 days in Dallas. I was attending the AVID conference. I had a blast. I am still amazed by the number of attendants.

Was I pleased with Dallas. NO. TX is *not* the place for me to live. No siree. The humidity was something else. Aside from attending sessions, I got to see the Cowboy Stadium (nice) and "Dreamgirls." Both were outstanding.

I met some wonderful people from my sister schools.

On Sunday, "The Man" surprised me by taking me to NM to visit his brother. The weather was beautiful. I will say this - - - rural life is NOT for this woman. I cannot imagine living in a place that has no mall or chain restaurants. I am all about the local chef, but everything was a greasy spoon. I don't know what they do in Silver City but drink.

How was your 4th?
